Ciao, sono Giulia. I'm a Sicilian painter working in acrylic from a studio in the Netherlands. I don't have much patience for playing it safe with color.
I grew up where the light is loud. Sun on stone, sea against terracotta, lemon trees and bougainvillea spilling over walls. That island palette never left me. Now I paint it from the other end of Europe, where the light is grey and the days are short, and I think that's exactly why the canvases come out so vivid. They're a kind of homesickness in color.
My work is about feeling. The hum of a flower garden, the rush of a good day, the way an August afternoon hits a wall in Palermo. I layer pigment, simplify the shapes, and keep going until something honest comes through.

Every commission starts with a conversation, whether it's for a living room, a lobby, a restaurant, or someone special. Tell me about the space, the person, the feeling: a favorite corner, a season, a memory, a color palette that already lives in the room. From there I sketch a few directions, and once you pick one, I paint it slow.

My studio is open for painting sessions, one-on-one or in small groups of friends. We work in acrylic, on canvas, at your pace. No experience needed. Just come with a mood, and we'll take it from there.
